When a client books an appointment the receptionist asks for their email address, telling them they will receive web specials by doing so. The first special they receive, just for signing up, is $5.00 off the service they are booking.

While on the phone the receptionist enters them in the database. An autoresponder will then automatically send them a personalized email with a coupon they print off and bring in.

Through the newsletter they have just signed up for they are offered various marketing methods. For instance on a day that is dead - send out an email special that the first client to show up at the shop, gets a free haircut!

You can have a lot of fun, create a ton of good will with your clients, and fill those empty chairs. This is only one example of how any business can use email to increase their bottom line profits, for a very small investment.
